A special thank you to 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 for their fantastic hospitality and for kindly opening up their farm and sharing their experience with us. It was a brilliant opportunity to see calf rearing in practice and have some really useful conversations.
Throughout the day, we looked at the key areas of 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐟 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠, from colostrum management and nutrition through to housing, hygiene and overall calf health.
We also focused on 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐟 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬 and understanding what calves are telling us through their behaviour, growth and appearance. Spotting small changes early can make a big difference to calf health and performance.
It was great to see everyone getting involved, sharing experiences, asking questions and discussing practical ways to improve calf rearing on farm.
A huge thank you again to 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 for hosting us, and to everyone who came along and made it such an enjoyable and informative day.
